About Us
Roger & Linda purchased St Edmunds at the end of December 2019. Very shortly afterwards the world went into Lockdown, more than once! Whilst it was a shock to us all, they took the opportunity to re-decorate the guest house both inside and out, taking it from a 1970’s decor to an up to date, stylish property with individual characterful rooms, from which they have received numerous very positive comments. The re-decoration process is never complete as they continue to improve all aspects of St Edmunds, leaving no stone unturned. “We aim to give our customers a homely feel, but to holiday in a space that is different to their own dwellings”.
Having both worked in the hospitality industry for many years, Roger and Linda have experience of customer needs. “We try and give our customers what we would like ourselves. We are a guest house providing quality Bed and Breakfast, so those two elements are crucial to a good stay”. And judging by the many great reviews they have had since taking over, this seems to be a winning formula. “We see no reason to change, just to constantly improve. We hope our customers really appreciate a quality guest house”.
Pets
We welcome small well behaved dogs. Please keep them on a lead whilst on the premises and grounds. There is a charge of £10 per dog per night with a maximum of 2 dogs. Paignton Park is 100 metres from our property for exercising, with Paignton beach allowing dogs between 1st September and 1st May. Goodrington beach is pet friendly all year round and is approximately a 15 minutes walk.
Our Rooms
As befits a house built in the mid-1850s, the rooms vary in size. St Edmunds Guesthouse is fully double glazed and centrally heated with new luxury carpeting throughout, cosy duvets and warm throws in winter. All of our rooms are bright and freshly decorated following refurbishment in 2021. There is a good free WiFi signal available everywhere around St Edmunds Guesthouse.
Fantastic! Lovely Guest House, well decorated throughout, our room was lovely, clean & tidy, plenty of space and storage space, also very comfortable. We were greeted on arrival with a pot of tea and cakes which was very welcome indeed. Breakfast each morning served as we arrived in the dining room was great, so much choice and all well presented and freshly cooked. Friendly and attentive, nothing too much trouble. Well done Roger and Linda, could not have been better, thank you so much. We will be back.

Beautiful homely home. very clean and well stocked. Breakfast was excellent. Breakfast room very clean and tidy. Breakfast served as soon as you take your seats. Linda is very efficient and Rogers is a super cook. also we were greeted with a hot beverage and slice of cake. 10/10 ample parking within easy walking distance to shops and sea front. Good luck in the future.
